Parameter Setting
Here is the dialog to set the subject and testing parameter. The
parameters include the tester’s lastname and firstname; the number
of testing frequencies, testing frequencies, testing configuration
(speakers or headphone), and testing ear (left, right, or both). Also,
the existing users’ data can be loaded by clicking the button in the
right bottom.
Recommended Step:
After the input of name and testing parameters, two options will be
shown in the screen. One is to establish appropriate reference
threshold while the other is to perform new hearing test. If reference
threshold has been established in this computer, the program will
recommend performing new hearing test. If not, the program will
recommend establishing refernece threshold for this computer by
finding a few normal-hearing people performing this test first.
Testing Interface:
After choosing one of the options or pressing F2 to start the hearing
test. Two buttons will be shown in the screen. Pay attention to any
sound when the two buttons are automatically pressed. If you can
NOT hear any sound, plrease press the left button or press “1” or “N”
button. If you CAN hear sound (maybe very soft), please press the
right button or “2”, or “Y” button. The program will automatically
adjust the volume of the testing sounds based on your response.
Testing Results:
After the testing, two figures will be shown in the screen. Left figure
shows the pure tone threshold (related to the computer setting).
Right figure shows the hearing level (dB HL; hearing threshold vs
normal-hearing thresholds).
Testing Records:
Here shows the mean hearing threshold (PTA) over time. Press F8
to show this figure.
